The lively and attractive village of Folgaria offers skiers a number of smallish ski areas dotted around the heavily forested surrounding slopes. Despite being a well established resort it is only now becoming known to British skiers who enjoy the friendly Italian atmosphere and the highly picturesque surroundings.

Despite being a well established resort it is only now becoming known to British skiers who enjoy the friendly Italian atmosphere and the highly picturesque surroundings. La Polsa is situated high above Rovereto in the Altopiano Di Bretonico. The resort has been long established as the perfect resort for school groups with door step skiing, 45 kms of wide pistes, including the steeper slopes of nearby San Valentino. La Polsa has the charm of a small traditional Italian mountain village. The village is actually purpose built (although it doesn't look like it) and has a handful of bars and cafes. There is more skiing than you might imagine on wide open, sunny slopes, with little tree cover.

Considered to have an old lift system, many of these small learner drag lifts dotted around the village. The System provides enough for the beginner/ intermediate skier but would in no way satisfy a more seasoned skier. Limited pisted runs of 60kms. No good opportunity for fast cruising. The majority of runs are easy (24) and intermediate (20), with only 3 pisted runs marked as advanced. Though there is some off piste opportunity from the top of Passo Coe, this is limited. The Highest lift is relatively low at approx 2000m.

There are many apres ski possibilities in Folgaria. Shops are open late in the evenings and pedestrianised streets allow for a safe stroll. A large indoor sports complex offers swimming and ice-skating. There is a very good selection of bars and restaurants.
