Winter Sports

Our WINTER SPORTS policy features cover which is designed specifically to meet the needs of skiers and snowboarders. Helicopter recovery, mountain rescue and air ambulance are included so you can ski in the knowledge that you are fully covered if you suffer serious injury on the mountain.

Emergency Assistance ServiceMulti-lingual emergency assistance service provided 24 hours a day. Our medical assistance specialists deal direct with the hospital to ensure that you receive appropriate care, and to arrange the payment of any bills.
Relative or Friend AssistanceReasonable accommodation and travelling expenses for a friend or relative if you have to be accompanied home on medical advice.

Additional Hospital Benefit£1000£1000A benefit of £20 for every 24 hours you spend in hospital as an in-patient abroad.
Baggage£500£2000Loss, theft or damage of your baggage. The limit for a single item is £300, whilst the total valuables limit (eg jewellery) is £400. Baggage claims are settled taking into account wear and tear and depreciation. If your baggage goes astray for more than 12 hours on your outward journey we will pay up to £150 towards the cost of emergency purchases.
Cash & Documentsn/a£500Loss or theft of cash (limit of £120), travel tickets, and passports, whilst being carried on your person.
Loss of Passport£100£200Additional travel and accommodation expenses incurred to replace your lost passport.
Travel Delay£200£200For each full 12 hours that your outward or return journey to or from the United Kingdom is delayed, we will pay £20 per 12 hour delay or if your outward journey is delayed for more than 12 hours, you can choose to abandon your trip.

Winter Ski Pass£250£250Up to £250 for the value of unused portion of lift pass and ski school fees if you have an accident or your lift pass is lost.
Piste Closure£200£200A benefit of £30 per day if the piste is closed due to bad weather or lack of snow. (Available between 1st December and 31st March)
Avalanche/Weather Delay£150£150Additional travel and accommodation expenses if your journey is delayed as a result of an avalanche or bad weather.
Policy ExcessAn excess of £50 applies to this policy. The excess will be deducted in the event of a claim. This applies to every incident and each insured person involved, but where one incident covers more than one section of the policy, only one excess will be applied.
