Snowboarding Insurance
Our ski insurance will also cover you if you take part in other winter sports, including snowboarding.
Snowboarding has gradually increased in popularity, although it is much harder to master than skiing, it is very popular in Europe, USA and Canada. During 2008 more than 5 million took to the slopes including 20 per cent of tourists visiting the US for that reason only.
In Europe and North America almost 97 per cent of ski areas will allow you to snowboard and almost half of the resorts will have half pipes, rails and jumps. Now, approximately 97% of all ski areas in North America and Europe allow snowboarding, and more than half have jumps, rails and half pipes.
Winter sports insurance cover is highly recommended if you are planning on taking part in any of the activities available on the slopes but especially if you are hoping to include snowboarding, considered by many to be a far more dangerous pass time that skiing.
Our ski policy offers you some very good key benefits and these include -
- Skiing and snowboarding off piste (in authorised areas)
- Tobogganing
- Loss or damage of snowboarding equipment
- Loss or damage of snowboarding pass
- Piste closure
- Slope closure due to avalanche or landslide
- Up to £10 million medical expenses
- Mountain rescue
- Access to a 24 hours medical emergency help line
- Repatriation
We would recommend you wear the correct protective gear, including for those who are experienced boarders. Fractured wrists and ankles are very vulnerable to sprains and breaks, fractured wrists accounting for 100,000 injuries alone annually and knee ligament injuries outweigh even this statistic. Your head is particularly susceptible to injuries of the brain and a helmet would go some way to improving the odds against this.
Our policies will cover you from the minute your purchase has been confirmed. You can take advantage of our online discount of 10 per cent, or call us to help you complete your purchase. We offer group discounts and school party quotes at competitive prices.
